Some how the monkeys of Tiger Cave Temple, deserved their own page. Mostly, because I took so many pictures of them, they just were so cute and cracked me up.....but they had a vicious side too.
The monkeys have overtaken the area here. They are known to steal food from tourists and we had been warned. The garbage cans are in caged areas (just like keeping out bears) and the local vendors keep a careful watch on everything and carry around sticks. The monkey population exceeds the dog and cat population, whom sit passively and watch the monkey wars.
We were just ready to ascend the 1257 stairs up to the temple with our camera and water in hand. A monkey ran up to Molly and grabbed her water bottle. She screamed. He hissed. He proceeded to sit on the stairs and untwist the cap and drain her water out while looking her straight in the eye. Monkey karma? Definately a monkey pattern.
